What Is Possible for Us and the World?

What Is Possible for Us and the World?

We are about to celebrate 250 years of being a country founded on high ideals in our Declaration of Independence– life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Though there have been rough roads where we really didn’t mean all - like women, slaves, immigrants, and children - we are now with greater consciousness, knowing that we are One. There is one humanity, one Earth, one interconnected web of life, including animals and plants.  It’s what we teach and celebrate together in Unity. We seek a consciousness that embraces rather than excludes, a mindset of collaboration rather than competition, and a knowing that the Divine expresses in an infinite variety of ways, no one more valued than another.

We can draw from the power of imagination and commit to creating a country and a world that works for all. Today, and our future, are shaped in consciousness, in values, in dreaming what can yet be lived. Each day, we can choose to live more fully into our country’s initial declaration. The One Power can use our minds and actions to foster a world with no separation. As I let myself feel how magical this would be, I think of authenticity, courage and compassion flowing, and the harmony of love spreading.

We are free to repeatedly choose love and connection. This is the greatest freedom, and it provides the biggest payback – peace in our minds, hearts, and world. These spiritual principles are the foundation of being free in consciousness and in our countries. Let freedom ring from our hearts, bearing the invitation to a table where every person is welcome and treated with dignity.

Happy 250 America!
