Happy Birthday, Myrtle!

Happy Birthday, Myrtle!

Joy to us as we celebrate our dear Myrtle Fillmore, who was born August 6, 1845. She left the planet on October 6, 1931, after 86 years of praying, loving and teaching. Her own experience of healing through affirmative prayer became the foundation of her life’s work. As others witnessed her transformation, they began following her example – learning to care for themselves in body, mind, and soul, and awakening to the healing and wholeness already present within them. Charles, her husband, was impressed and began his own spiritual journey.  Together they created Unity. She was instrumental in the founding of Silent Unity, the 24-hour prayer ministry that has served people for more than 125 years and now receives millions of prayer requests annually.

Here are some affirmations used by Myrtle that you may enjoy:

  • I know that all my needs are met.
  • Nothing is impossible for me to attain because I believe that with God, all things are possible.
  • I open my mind and heart to the unlimited possibilities of wholeness in mind, body, and spirit. I see the healing power of God at work in all of my affairs.”

She taught, “Our first duty, then, is to bless our body and to get our thoughts right down into it, to praise its wonderful work, to learn what its needs are, and to arrange for supplying them.”

May her example of being present to the Christ within cause us to always turn to our inner Divine and there find all that we need. She was on fire with the love that fueled her consciousness and actions.

Myrtle loved The Prayer of Faith. Below is a recording in her voice of this favorite prayer.

Oodles of Joy and Love,
