Prayer Treasures

May 10, 2021

In my deepest, darkest moments, what really got me through was a prayer. Sometimes my prayer was 'Help me.' Sometimes a prayer was 'Thank you.' What I've discovered is that intimate connection and communication with my creator will always get me through because I know my support, my help, is just a prayer away. Iyanla Vanzant

Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. Alan Cohen

Mental prayer in my opinion is nothing else than an intimate sharing between friends; it means taking time frequently to be alone with Him who we know loves us. The important thing is not to think much but to love much and so do that which best stirs you to love. Love is not great delight but desire to please God in everything. Saint Teresa of Avila

From the Unity booklet, The Comfort of Prayer:

The power of divine love is my rich inner resource. Love is within me. Love flows from me. As I lead by love, I feel full and fulfilled. Whether giving or receiving, leading or following, abundant love is mine. In love I pray.

I am free from thought patterns that leave me feeling vulnerable or weak. I am one with infinite life that is always in motion and always flowing forward, onward, and outward. I celebrate life as I notice and appreciate the well-being and blessings that exist right now.

The Absolute Word for April 18, 2021, from Rev. Dr. Paul Hasselbeck:

Pray with Others

I am DIVINE, as is each person with whom I pray.

A friend knows your DIVINITY during those moments you may find it difficult to know it for yourself. Each person I pray with is a friend even if we just met. I begin by letting go of fear and releasing any thoughts of lack, illness, disharmony, or limitation as I pivot my awareness to our identical DIVINITY.

Each person is the PRINCIPLE of ABUNDANCE because they are DIVINE. Each of them is DIVINE LOVE. I see each one warming and comforting themselves as they bring harmony to their relationships. I affirm their abundant living as they guide themselves using DIVINE LOVE, WISDOM, and UNDERSTANDING. I see each of their lives orderly unfolding as they enjoy security, health, and joy.

I am DIVINE, as is each person with whom I pray.

From Unity of Bon Air Prayer Chaplain, Dottie Klammer:

Living Loving God, We thank you for the Power of Wisdom.
Wisdom lets us find signals in all the noise that we can experience sometimes. We listen within and are guided. Answers show themselves when we go into the quiet of our hearts. When we go to that place of peace and harmony, we let go of critical thinking and are able to wrap decisions in understanding and compassion. Past disappointments and future expectations fade away. We listen. Our thinking becomes clear as we evaluate circumstances with love. Our Divine Guidance Systems embody all possibilities and answers surface. We become resolute in our next steps and are reassured that our Power of Wisdom is always there in our arsenal. Thank you God, not only for Wisdom but for all 12 of our powers.
Affirmation: I am wise. I use wisdom for my highest good

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? ...For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are. I Corinthians 3:16-17

The Father who dwells in me does His works. John 14:10

It is your mission to express all that you can imagine God to be. Let this be your standard of achievement; never lower it, nor allow yourself to be belittled by the cry of sacrilege. You can attain to everything you can imagine. If you can imagine that it is possible to God, it is also possible to you. - Charles Fillmore

From the Unity booklet, The Comfort of Prayer:

I am one with and now realize divine abundance. The good of God cannot be withheld. It pours over every detail of my life like a steady and gently flowing rain. With every breath, I draw upon divine abundance. Every need of mine is met with plenty – plenty of possibilities, plenty of resources, plenty to love and celebrate.

With the joy of God in my heart, I give thanks for the fullness of life. My thoughts are uplifted and in tune with Spirit. Good moves through me as a nourishing river of gladness and thanksgiving. For family, friends, and a place to call home, my gratitude comes from an overflowing heart. I am assured of divine love and blessed with peace, guidance, health, and abundance.

From the Unity booklet, The Comfort of Prayer:

God and I, by Frank B. Whitney

I walked with God

God walked with me,

But which was God

And which was “me”?

And thus I found

The truth profound:

I live in God,

God lives in me.

From Unity of Bon Air Prayer Chaplain, Dottie Klammer:

With our entry into this life we came equipped with the power of love. Love can be a decision or a commitment when I change lanes and come back to the Light that I know I am; Or it can be the limitless flow that comes from my very core, that knows no rhyme or reason. With certainty, it bridges gaps, adds life to relationships and heals wounds. I give it freely when I let go of judgment of others and of myself. When words fail, actions out of love promote the glue that brings peace to my relationships. I am thankful for the power of love and for the gift of our Way Shower, Jesus the Christ.
Affirmation: I am a radiating center of Love.

From the Unity booklet, Release and Renew – A Spiritual Practice for Lent 2021:

I release any belief in limitation.

I renew my sense of possibility.

I release a habit of judging others.

I renew my commitment to see the Divine in all beings.

I release all doubt and indecision.

I renew my divine power of wisdom.

I release negative thinking.

I renew my positive expectations.

I release discontent.

I renew my gratitude in all things

From the Unity booklet, The Comfort of Prayer:

I am the flow of plenty. From the wellspring of goodness that is divine abundance, I give and receive all that can be helpful, nurturing, comforting, and constructive. In this moment, I celebrate all possibilities that flow from a consciousness of plenty. Good flows to me as good flows from me.

I live expectantly, gratefully, and abundantly. I am present and fully aware of the bounty of blessings in my life. As I focus on all that is good and right, I exude gratitude. To any thought of lack, I say, “Be present! Be grateful!” In prayer, I am an overflowing well of gratitude.
