Zeal In Full Force

Zeal In Full Force

On Sunday, 10/19, zeal was in full force! WOW, what a glorious day! The choir sang with zeal and every person that brought forth parts of Boo & Stew were zealous.  From setup to cleanup, decorating, cooking, serving food, baking, creating fun

activities, and selling tickets, zeal was obvious. We had adults and children dressed in gorgeous costumes. The place was on fire with zeal and love! We are grateful!

For my final piece on zeal, I am quoting C. Fillmore’s second wife, Cora, from a 1954 book, Christ Enthroned in Man

“Zeal is the power that incites the other faculties to greater and ever greater activity. Zeal, courage, and earnestness give luster and color to the soul, just as the sparkle of the diamond gives it beauty.

When a person is truly working in the consciousness of spiritual zeal, he is zealous; zealous to serve God and to serve God’s children; every impulse of his soul is to transmute the low, selfish desires into those which conform to a high spiritual standard. Such a worker is a pearl of great price; his power is felt the world round. Courage and fervor awaken a deep, spiritual feeling, and this deep feeling always invigorates soul and body. The courageous spirit is zealous to prove the strength and power of God. The courageous spirit glorifies God among the daily duties and trials of the world.”

There are plenty of opportunities for zealous sharing coming soon. This weekend we have a fundraiser for a school in Uganda.  Then, in November, we will collect for Chesterfield's food bank and the Christmas Mother campaign; we'll help decorate the gardens and church for Christmas, make jewelry, donate clothing in the hallway, and then fill backpacks for the homeless on November 30th.

We affirm - I am one with the ever-unfolding, ever-increasing Spirit of infinite courage, wisdom, and zeal.

Blessings as you allow your zeal to shine forth,
   Rev. Patty
