Self-Love Squared

I am still thinking about Sunday’s story. It is always an act of self-love to feel fear and move forward grounded in love. Edwene told a story of loving herself enough to go through the fear even if she was shaking, babbling and having a hissy fit. She essentially said to her ego – “I hear you; I feel the fear and here we go, over the ledge.” She said to the Divine within - “I hear you, I know you are with me. Here we go, over the ledge!”

We each come upon moments where fear would paralyze us. Here we have a pattern to follow. We acknowledge what we are feeling and make a choice that empowers us. What we are doing is choosing to be led by our principles. We come back to the ONE POWER that is for us, never against our growth and development. We remember truth and claim, “I trust in the Love of which I am an expression.”

As we do our work of self-love, we then become those who love others. We become radiating centers of love and harmony. As we love others, we create a world that works for all because we will not go so low as to hate. The truth of who we are is love.

I’m sharing the prayer I read by author, Joyce Rupp. It is a prayer of love. May it be a blessing to you.

"I arise with amazement at the presence of the Holy One. I arise with gratitude for life. I arise with hope that all shall be well. I arise with courage to meet what is difficult. I arise with conviction to do what is life-giving. I arise with compassion for the hurting ones in the cosmos. I arise with a sense of kinship with all."

As we celebrate love this month, may we discover ways to so deeply love our true Self that we change the vibration/energy of our world. As the choir sang in the final song – “We are the ones, we are the ones that we’ve been waiting for.”

With deep love,
Rev. Patty
