Live A Life That Makes A Difference, Creating World Peace

We need a major shift in consciousness to create world peace. Eight children were killed and two women were wounded in Louisiana on Sunday. Too many countries are at war around the world – heartbreaking.  People believe we are separate. Yet the truth that we are one dwells in our hearts at Unity. We believe that no one and nothing is against us, that we are spiritual beings.

When I hear about people committed to creating peace in our world, my heart sings. Commitment will create transformation within our hearts and the world.

Our beloved monks and Aloka are doing A Walk for World Peace in Sri Lanka from April 21st to May 1st. They intend to bring awareness of peace, mindfulness, loving-kindness, and unity as they walk across this island and to bring home Sacred Relics and a sacred Bodhi tree sapling.

They have me wondering what commitment I (we) can make to create a culture of world peace. My game plan is to root out every thought of judgment, separation, and comparison in my mind, or release them when they arise. I want to speak peace and to be a stand for peace.

I quoted Jane Goodall on Sunday. She said, “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”

I feel my heart fill when I see people choosing loving kindness. May we join with the monks in doing what is ours to do. Here’s to living a life that makes a difference and creates world peace.

Claiming peace for all,
Rev. Patty
