On Sunday we shared that we have passed the many hurdles to getting our new sign, and we think it is beautiful! We believe it will be shining on Buford Road in a few months. Yet, what is so very important about our church is the people. Yes, we have a lovely facility and an incredible garden and soon a great sign, but the love is the thing here that makes the difference. It is each of you that makes a difference. It is what keeps me coming back week after week.
Each of us give a more powerful message than the name of who we are. Let that sink in. We are each a billboard in our own way. We create the space for someone to feel welcomed, accepted, and at home. We create a space for growing and becoming our best selves. This human gig is not always easy, yet it is easier when we find a place where our heart resonates and feels grace. It is easier when we can laugh, cry, and dance together, as we think a new thought.
We may not agree on every single issue and that’s okay. We agree that each person expresses the divinity that is the truth of who they are. And we agree that there is one LOVE, and we all express this divine love uniquely, wonderfully, and creatively.
I want to thank each of you for being a sign of Love’s presence and power, whether you display it with a smile, a song, an encouraging word, a prayer, a tasty offering, a hug, or a listening presence. I remember the sentence, "You are the only Gospel (good news) some people will ever read." It is true! We are the embodied “word of life.” Celebrate the truth you bear. Turn the voltage up on the light you are and let it shine, my beloveds. We are doing amazing things!
