Community Outreach

Members at Unity Christ Church of Bon Air have a deep social consciousness and provide a number of outreach opportunities to serve the community.  Some of these include:

Teddy Bear Sunday – Members contribute hundreds of teddy bears to the Chesterfield County Police Department one Sunday out of each year. The teddy bears provide a calming influence for children in crisis when officers are dispatched to unpleasant situations.

Christmas Mother – Each holiday season the congregation provides food, clothing and toys to several local needy families.

Adopt-a-Pet – In conjunction with local animal shelters, the mission is to raise awareness and provide homes to stray/abandoned pets.

Central Virginia Food Bank – A team of congregants helps to prepare meals for children, the elderly and shut-ins on a monthly basis.

Unity Homebound Ministry – Provides a network of support to assist congregants in time of need, including home visits, rides to church/doctor visits, and picking up groceries. Contact Vickie Cantelmo at harleyflower@msn.com for more details, or if you need assistance.
